The Underdog Project is an animal assisted therapy organisation working with at-risk teenagers and shelter dogs. Our workshops involved a combination of life skills, humane education and dog training activities with intention of engaging with and inspiring vulnerable youths and to address social, emotional and behavioural challenges.
Volunteers are involved with various activities on the project depending on the skills that they have.
- Co-facilitition of workshops and group activities
- Assisting with dogs during the training workshops
- Day-to-day jobs such as preparing lunches, walking dogs, preparing for workshops
- Back-end support: writing, design, Facebook and Twitter
All volunteers will need to do a shelter introduction workshop with our team, and we also run other training workshops where possible during the course of the year. Volunteers are responsible for their own transport.
Applications are accepted all year round, and need to be accompanied by a CV and accompanying motivational letter.
